Running for my buddy Caleb and his family these last weeks has been amazingly inspiring, eye-opening and fulfilling. I have found myself using him and his strength as an example of how to encourage people not to "sweat the small stuff" and continue to smile. If this brave little man can smile, laugh and light up the lives of his family members considering what he deals with everyday, than of course we can too! For those who don't know about my match up with Caleb, read my post here explaining.
Caleb was born with asthma, a seizure disorder, PVL and Cerebral Palsy.
Cerebral palsy awareness is signified with a green ribbon and so I was hoping that I could get some other people in the act of dedicating their workouts and runs to Caleb today! My goal is to get 5 miles in for him and to get some other people who have the blessing of physical fitness and ability to dedicate some miles to him also!
I even managed to spread the word about Caleb and Cerebral Palsy Awareness around work and everyone was getting into the act!
For those friends on the IRun4 site that haven't been matched with a buddy yet, perhaps you can dedicate your time today!
Hi Mackenzie! My name is Heather and I have a quick question about cerebral palsy awareness and was wondering if you could email me when you have a free moment. Thanks! Hope to hear from you soon! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, I would be happy to. Can you provide your email address?
